Beograđanka
While its official name is the Belgrade Palace, it is renowned by its popular name meaning “The Belgrade Lady”. Beograđanka was built between 1969 and 1974, according to the design of arch Branko Pešić (not to be mistaken for Belgrade’s all-time favourite mayor), as the first skyscraper in the inner city. Representing one of the most significant realisations of Belgrade’s late sixties architecture, it briefly held the title of the city’s tallest building.
